There’s something about pitting your fighting skills against an opponent that really gets your adrenaline going. These days the graphics really offer the player an all encompassing experience. It’s come a long way since the first Atari games.

I imagine a day when the controller we use to play a fighting video game will be more realistic. I know that Modern Warfare 2 has new controller peripherals that look like combat equipment, just like Wii has their motion controller and boxing gloves. Some day in the future of fighting video games, we will be sparring live with other players in real time using real looking guns and we will experience total immersion in the video game arena. I look forward to that day but meanwhile, the realism of the fighting game experience is improving by leaps and bounds.

What are your favorite fighting video games and first-person shooter games? Add them to the comments of this post.

Here are some of my favorite fighting and shooter games out there to date:

1. Tekken 6

2. Mortal Combat 2

3. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

4. Battlefield Bad Company 2

5. UFC Undisputed 2010

6. Halo 3 and Halo Reach

7. Dante’s Inferno ( this one’s really hard)

8. Fight Night Round 4

9. Brothers In Arms Hell’s Highway

10. Rainbow 6 Vegas 2

Now I know there are people who think that fighting video games and other violent video games cause unhealthy and violent behavior in children but I think that’s a bunch of hogwash. If anything, it allows people to release pent up frustrations. When we were kids we used to wrestle and play war games in the field behind our house and no one ever talked about that leading us to violence. Movies and sports are full of violence and I believe that there’s something about the nature of humans that attracts us to these kinds of activities. Fighting video games are another extension of this trait we have.

What are some of you favorite fighting video games and first-person shooter games? Please tell my readers in the comments to this post.

It has exceptional graphics and amazing duo combo attack moves. This game will impress old and new fans to this series and it can hold its own for beginners to advanced fighters. Most of the old fighters are back along with some new, so if you love fighting then you will be in for a treat!

This game sports 41 fighters in total, so there are many characters to chose from. Many of the old fighters are pretty much the same with the exception of a few twists and most have at least one new combat move. Their damage control has also been reduced and some of their features have been modified. And as different as they may seem, they really are just the same fighters they used to be.

With six new characters to the match there is some new blood to mix with the old!

These new fighters all offers something unique and range from female to male. If you want to practice your game first, you can try the practice mode. This part of the game will not show you things you will only learn when you are actually playing the game, but it will show you how to refine your skills. It will also explain to you about timing for buttons, direction press and defence moves, It will also show you how to set up attacks and identify moves. You can stay in this section for as long as you need to, so that when you begin the game, you are well prepared.

Some cons to this game include things like playing in a distracting world. There is a lot going on in each level, from helicopters crashing to jets whizzing by and then there are these strange barn yard animals that leap all about making odd noises. And because the sound in the game is so crystal clear in quality, it can make it too distracting while you are playing. For example; when you are in the middle of a fight and a wounded donkey wonders by you making loud noises, you might be tempted to take your eyes off the fight for a second and then you lose, feeling a bit ripped off.

Some also claim that the loading times are too slow. When you are waiting for a match to load or for characters to load on to the screen there can be a long stand still. This can be derailing for many video game fans who just want to play!

While the graphics look amazing and the characters` details are refined, most of the characters skin looks waxy and fake. It was also noted that some fans were disappointed that there isn`t a two player mode when you are offline.

Tekken 6 is a fine game for all gamers alike who love a solid fighting game. This game is well loved because it has lots of characters to select from and each different character can bring forth a whole different kind of fight. There are also so many moves to discover and identify with that literally the fights could go on endlessly. There are some great new ways to prolong damaging fight combos and tricky encounters combined with insane game play that make this game an awesome addition to the five before it.

This year is certainly the year of the fight games as many of the best games are being released but perhaps Tekken 6 is the best of them all. It doesn’t matter if you are playing by yourself or challenging yourself against a tough opponent online, Tekken 6 will keep you entertained for a long time. Tekken 6 continues the one-on-one, 3D tradition with the franchise’s biggest roster yet, and some nice game play refinements that truly revolutionize the game.

The best part about Tekken 6 is that the game play is still simple enough that anyone can play but it is nowhere close to being a button-masher . Once again, there are really only four buttons you need to worry about: one assigned to each limb of your character. With two punches, two kicks and then basic movement, almost anyone can pick up a controller and start mashing away to execute some basic attacks but for the more experienced gamers there’s a surprisingly deep system underneath the simple interface. There are all types of things you can do to make you more of a strategic fighter to beat even the best fighters out there. Some of these things that prevent this great game from being a button masher is the ability to do such things as parries, counters, juggles, wall hits and more.

One of the new changes to Tekken 6 is that you no longer have to constantly back up to defend yourself from your opponents’ fierce attacks. This really changes up the way your defense works. There are also a few more fighters joining the adventure that is Tekken. This is a great buy for any fighting game fans out there. It is one of the most notable fighting games out there and with more and more great quality games it shall remain that way.
