Soul Calibur 4 Review
Another great fighting game franchise Soul Calibur has recently came out with Soul Calibur IV. Soul Calibur set a new standard for fighting games on home consoles over a decade ago and still to this day continues to improve. Soul Calibur IV is no different in that respect; the series-first online play is a great addition, but though the visuals have improved and the game play has undoubtedly evolved, it still feels very familiar. And that’s no bad thing.
The majority of the characters on Soul Calibur IV’s roster will also be familiar if you’re a fan of the series, though only around half of the 30-plus combatants are available at the outset, including Yoda on the Xbox 360 and Darth Vader on the PlayStation 3. Others characters are unlocked by defeating them in the single-player Story or arcade modes, and by purchasing them with the gold that you are awarded for winning fights. There’s more than enough variety on the roster to
ensure that you can enjoy playing as at least a handful of different characters, and a robust customization system gives you the freedom both to edit their appearances and to create your own fighters from scratch.
No matter who you play as, Soul Calibur IV is accessible enough that even first-time players will have no trouble performing some powerful and great-looking moves. Rather than having to memorize lengthy combo attacks and knowing how to attack your opponent, the challenge here comes from knowing when to attack, when to block, and when to sidestep around the arena. That’s not to say that the combatants in Soul Calibur IV don’t have impressively large repertoires of moves, because they do, it’s just that very few of them are tough to pull off. This is a great game for all new and old fighting game lovers.

Hi there love the website, I am new to gaming and I am using a very old Acer laptop…..not too sure of specs but is 8 years old. I am looking to update my computer, do you have any suggestions re specifications when buying a new system. Which operating system, capacity etc would be best suited to running the new games that are being released.
Based on the configs, get i7 with at least 4GB of ram, also I would say that 64-bit Vista is more appropriate than XP, it allows you to use all the potential of the machine. (multiGPU, DX10 …)
On configs with a dual core, 2GB of RAM and a single GPU graphics card, I would recommend XP 32 bit but it will be a little lower than Vista.
Windows XP is generally better for games because it requires less resources during the game play and I would say go for Vista for playing games that supports the recent direct x10 if your graphics card supports it.
Soul Caliber is hands down one of the best fighting games I’ve ever played.
Thanks for the great article to remind me about it. Looks like now I’ll have to got out and get SC4 now!
